This current moment in human history is having an extraordinarily challenging impact, primarily on younger generations. Much of the struggles can be correlated to the rapidly moving cultural and technological evolution that is happening faster than ever before. Even the most loving, supportive, and concerned GenX parents are understandably faced with an unnaturally massive generational gap due to just how much our world and the understanding of it has changed over the last 20 years in almost all parts of the world. It’s also important to note that many of the Boomers are statistically more likely to be hesitant and resistant to shifts in society’s increasingly inclusive, secular, technology-interdependent, and automated world. This means that even those in the older generations who attempt to keep up with all of the significant changes happening simultaneously, relating to their children is harder than it’s ever been for previous generations of parents and grandparents.
Unfortunately, this means many younger people feel unseen and unheard, resulting in a lack of trust in their elders’ beliefs and advice. For all of these reasons, the Solarpunk Futurist community has been created to bring a sense of relief to anyone who needs it, knowing that there are people who can validate their identity, prove that there are adults who are concerned about the poly-crises happening on the planet and actively working to mitigate it.
Solarpunk Futurist’s content and the community at large will include professionals, philosophers, theorists, policymakers, indigenous leaders, and other people from various walks of life from all over the world to explain these changes in a way that brings knowledge, wisdom, compassion, and a lexicon to communicate with each other and others. It is hoped that community members will feel empowered to find paths for future careers that will still need humans through the inspirational videos and recordings, resource libraries on this website, and share how they can access more academic resources in specialized niches of the Regenerative Movement, and find ways to support one another. Additional events, services, and gear will also be available.
